These were the words of a Chinese little boy—as he cried while learning English (quite an annoying language, if I may add).
Many times, we find ourselves losing faith, asking the same questions this little boy probably asked himself while learning: “Can I do this?” “God, this is hard.” “Can I just quit?”
Trust me, I have felt that way before and it wasn't such a great feeling. While some of us might decide to keep pushing like he did. Others don't—and that’s the problem.
Quitting, they say, is for losers.
But are you one?
If I heard you right, then I am happy to welcome you to the family- one which advises you to pick up the pieces of yourself and keep going.
“But what if I fail?”
My love, you probably will—again and again. But fail it until you get it right. Because every fall is a lesson. And what matters is not perfection, but growth. You’re learning, unlearning, and relearning every day—gathering the experience to become who you were truly meant to be.
Not that you asked, but let me add this: your circle matters. Surround yourself with people who genuinely love you and want to see you thrive.
Just like "Okoloko", who didn’t enjoy learning English and was so fed up—but he had people cheering him on.
So, who’s in your corner?
What is your circle motivating you to do today?
Get friends who want to grow—and help you grow too. That’s true friendship. That’s real love.
Look around. If your circle isn’t helping you become better—you have no business being there.
With love,
Your big aunty,
Temi 💛
